On 6/1/2004 the 1435 Paddington - Plymouth Service formed of 43176/43023 failed at Exeter St Davids station to take the train back to the depot for repairs Bristol St Phillips Marsh despatched a pair of HST Power Cars 43264/43170 to rescue the failed set.
